’I’ve heard the expression: ‘Catch the moment!. That’s easier said than done. In my opinion, this expression is meaningless. And really – you shouldn’t encourage the impossible.I say this with complete certainty, because I have tested it all on myself. I went to catch the moment, but I didn’t catch it - and only broke my watch. I now know it’s impossible. It is equally impossible to catch an era – because that’s just like a moment, only bigger. Yet it would be another thing to say: “Capture that which happens in this moment.” Another thing altogether. For example: “One, two three - nothing happened!”. There: I captured a moment in which nothing happened. Daniil Kharms, c1930s. Exhibition dates 03.02.18 - 22.03.18, Filet, London.
