Rock on Bones

prev/next Project

back

'Rock on Bones' looks at a 1950s/60s practice from the former Soviet Union of illegally making records of Western pop music using discarded medical x-ray transparencies. Collaborating with researchers at Kings College, London, and the Nikon Imaging Centre, Margarita Gluzberg investigates notions of contamination and proliferation linking fashion, media, and culture through the filter of the medical microscope. This project is supported by the Wellcome Trust.
